Abdominal Ultrasound and Echocardiography
Abdominal ultrasound is a valuable diagnostic tool that allows us to see a detailed picture of your pet's liver, kidneys, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, and other internal organs. It can be very useful to help in figuring out what could be the cause of your pet's ailments. It uses sound waves that bounce off the tissues to give us this picture.
Echocardiography, or an echo, uses this same technology to give us a real time picture of the heart. If your veterinarian hears a murmur in your pet's heart, this test may be recommended to diagnose the cause of the murmur. This test helps the doctor to look at the chambers of the heart, the valves, and how well the heart is pumping.
Twice per month, we have a specialist come in to our clinic, Dr. Josh Gidlewski DVM, DACVIM, to perform these valuable tests so that we can provide the best and most comprehensive care possible for your pet.
